Shaoli Mitra death cause:

A talented actor, director, and playwright, 73-year-old Mitra passed away at his residence in south Kolkata at 3:40 pm and was later cremated at Siriti crematorium without much fanfare, along with her close friend and theater personality Arpita Ghosh. she said.

Ghosh said she was suffering from heart-related ailments, but refused to be admitted to the hospital and her condition worsened on Sunday. Showing a copy of her last wish, Ghosh said that the famous actress wanted to cremate her close friends without any fanfare in her last wish.

Shaoli Mitra fans and critics alike for her solo performance as Draupadi in `Naathvati Anaathbat’ (which she also wrote and directed), and as Sita on `Sitakatha’ or Bitata Bitangso.

After spending years in `Bahurupi’, a famous theatre group, where she had immortalized the character of Amal in Tagore’s `Dakghar’ , Saoli founded `Pancham Baidik’ which established a trail blazer repertoire.

Mitra died of heart ailments on 16 January 2022 at the age of 73 at her home in South Kolkata.
